Greetings! Our names are Sherry and Tina Phillips. We are the founders of Raging Fire Ministries. Sherry grew up in the church and found her gifts in music at a very early age. She began singing in church with her father as a child and spent many years continuing the ministry of music. She was part of her family's local band who ministered singing Southern gospel music for over 10 years. She then ventured out on her own with some solo projects of songs she has written and arranged. She was also praise and worship leader in her local church. In 1996 she resigned from her positions as she began her journey in reconciling her faith and orientation.
Tina grew up on a farm and was not taken to church on a regular basis but recalls fond memories of some time she did spend at a little baptist church that provided a busride for the kids in her neighborhood. She accepted the Lord into her life a few years after her son was born. She too left the church as she began her journey into faith and reconciliation also.
God brought the two of us together in March of 2004. We were joined in holy union in Knoxville, TN in December of 2004. Together we have a grand total of 8 children. (3 biological, 3 we adopted, and 2 foster chilren.) We believe that God has called us to begin a ministry here in the Mountains of WV for the glbt community and the straight community as well. We understand that the challenge is a great one but with God nothing is impossible!
We continue to seek His will as we strive to please Him in our personal relationship with Him and the callings He has given to us with Raging FIre MInistries. May the holy spirit have His way!!!!
